Dear Members,
At PMI West Bengal Chapter (PMIWBC), volunteering is at the heart of how we learn, lead, and create impact together.
Our volunteers bring the chapter’s mission to life by supporting events, learning programs, outreach initiatives, member engagement, digital enablement, and community-building activities. Every contribution matters, whether it is a few focused hours for an event or a longer commitment to a chapter initiative.
Volunteering with PMIWBC is also a powerful development journey. It gives members an opportunity to work with experienced professionals, build leadership confidence, strengthen collaboration skills, expand their network, and contribute to initiatives aligned with PMI standards and values.

What
We
Do
We create structured volunteering opportunities that help members contribute to the chapter while developing practical leadership and collaboration skills.
Our volunteering ecosystem supports chapter events, training programs, membership engagement, outreach initiatives, communication campaigns, digital platforms, partnerships, and community impact programs. Volunteers work with chapter leaders and cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, execute, and improve initiatives that serve members and the wider project management community.
Through volunteering, members gain real-world exposure, build meaningful connections, earn eligible PDUs where applicable, and experience the satisfaction of giving back to the profession.
Programs & Initiatives
The Volunteering portfolio is different from volunteering for other portfolios. While Communication, Training, Membership, Outreach, and other portfolios use volunteers to deliver their own initiatives, the Volunteering portfolio focuses on building, enabling, supporting, and improving the overall volunteer ecosystem of PMI West Bengal Chapter.
Key programs and initiatives under the Volunteering portfolio include:
Volunteer Relations & Support
Act as a central support point for volunteers by listening to concerns, understanding challenges, guiding them to the right chapter contacts, and helping create a smoother volunteering experience across portfolios.
R11 South Asia Regional Exposure
Create opportunities for volunteers to engage with and learn from the PMI Region 11 South Asia team. This gives volunteers exposure beyond the chapter, helps them understand regional ways of working, and enables collaboration on broader PMI initiatives.
Volunteer Days Event
Plan and execute dedicated Volunteer Days to celebrate contribution, build community, share experiences, recognize active volunteers, and encourage more members to participate in chapter volunteering.
Volunteer Enablement for Other Portfolios
Support other chapter portfolios by helping identify, connect, and provide suitable volunteers for their events, programs, campaigns, outreach activities, and operational needs.
Virtual Volunteer Automation
Build and improve automation-driven processes to create and manage virtual volunteer opportunities. This includes simplifying volunteer onboarding, matching skills with opportunities, tracking participation, and enabling members to contribute remotely and efficiently.
